"Moore" On The Horizon!

The Vikings have lowered their trade expectations to a 4th Round Pick for the enigmatic running back/return man. Mewelde Moore has been a career back-up for all intense purposes, handling the majority of kick and punt returns.

He is a speedy, shifty running back out of Tulane (4th season). At 5'11'', 209 Lbs, this 25-year-old running back has been lurking in the background for some time. He can bring solid hands out of the backfield as well as a pretty good career 4.9 YDs a carry.

The Vikings have depth at RB with Chester Taylor and the unbelievable Adrian Peterson. With Moore expendable and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Denver Broncos in need of a RB, it seems inevitable that he will land in one of two places within the week. The trade deadline is fast approaching and I don't expect either to stand still with this recent drop in Moore's market price. I believe that the Bronco's have Mike Bell and Selvin Young so they won't push as hard as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have lost Cadillac for the season and Pittman, their third down back, injured. I believe he will likely end up a Buccaneer.

FANTASY IMPACT: This means something more for young Earnest Graham than it does for anyone else in the NFL. He is bound to lose touches upon Mewelde's arrival. Moore will still split carries, likely landing as the third down specialist with his sure hands and ability to get to the sidelines in a hurry. Anticipate him fielding kick/punt returns too. "When", not "If" this happens, he should quickly be scouped up from the waiver wires (if not before) due to the Buccaneers reliance on the running game.
